What are Heirloom Seeds:

In the past, heirloom seeds were typically handed down to a son or daughter of a farmer who was getting married.  This was considered a wedding gift to help provide for the newly formed family.  Now these heirloom seed varieties are sought after because of their diversity and their widespread growing regions that has helped to keep them isolated from Genetically Engineered Varieties.   The most common reason for seeking out heirloom seeds is to find varieties that are resistant to various molds and crop diseases depending on the region in which you are trying to grow.
